Description
Vin Anton – A Tribute to Six Generations of Character
A powerful, dark-berried blend of Blaufränkisch and Merlot – dedicated to six generations of “Anton” in the IBY family.
Vin Anton brings together the spice and structure of Blaufränkisch with the richness and elegance of Merlot – a wine of depth, personality, and expression. Aged in small oak barrels with masterful precision – the wood supports and carries the structure without dominating the aromatics. Traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary finesse.
Appearance:
Deep ruby garnet with an almost black core and violet highlights. Dense, clear and radiant – a visual promise of complexity and concentration.
Nose:
Intense and layered: ripe heart cherries, blackberries, cassis, and dark forest fruits mingle with peppery spice, dried herbs, fine minerality, and a hint of dark chocolate. Subtle oak notes are seamlessly integrated, adding depth without distraction.
Palate:
Full-bodied and finely structured with silky tannins and a lively acid backbone. Juicy dark berries and black cherries dominate, underpinned by herbal spice and mineral nuances. The oak is perfectly embedded, enhancing the wine’s elegance and giving it a long, complex finish with echoes of cranberry, cocoa, and wild berry compote.
Food Pairing & Potential:
Vin Anton is the perfect companion for bold and hearty dishes – game, lamb, beef, flavourful grilled meats or a perfectly cooked steak. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses and savoury mushroom-based creations.
Slightly chilled (16–17 °C), it shines on warm summer evenings – either alongside grilled dishes or enjoyed solo as a wine of true character and depth.
On cooler autumn and winter nights (18–19 °C), it is ideal for relaxing by the fireplace, letting your soul unwind – Vin Anton always displays character and presence, combining power and opulence with finesse and elegance.
Ageing potential: 10–18 years – with increasing depth, harmony, and complexity over time.
An opulent yet balanced wine with soul and longevity – as multifaceted as the six generations of “Anton” in the IBY family to whom it is dedicated.
